Garfield was the winner in the Harriers December Running Contest that is held monthly on the Discussion Forum of our web page. Twenty contestants entered the contest and Garfield won by submitting answers to a tie-breaker question. |

Mike Emerson
Mike was the only Harrier to win his age division in the Beat the Christmas Rush 5K with a time of 23:18. Mike was 75th overall out of 220 finishers. |

Jim Finlayson and Wendy Davies
Jim finished 6th overall in the Canadian Championships Cross Country 12K in 39:54 in Moncton, NB and qualified for the National Team competing in the world XC Championships in Dublin, Ireland next March.
Wendy was the highest finishing Harrier and third woman overall in the Merrython 8K. |

Steve Bachop
Steve finished second overall to James Morrison in the 17th annual Gunner Shaw Cross Country Classic. Both James (32:08) and Steve (32:17) finished under Keith Butler's previous course record of 33:08. Steve also won the 1999 Gunner Shaw race. |

Belinda Nixon
A new club member, Belinda Nixon, just arrived from Australia and ran her first race as a Harrier yesterday. The PIH Table Scraps captured a silver medal in the 5th annual Thetis Lake Relay. Belinda, along with Walter Cantwell, Sylvan Smyth and Karen Lawless took second place, 15th overall, in the highly competitive Senior Mixed Division. True to form, Belinda joined fellow Aussie Ken Smythe at the Six Mile for fluid replenishment following the race. Good on ya, mate! |

Rob ran an brilliant Shawnigan Half Marathon finishing 3rd overall, 1st master, of 428 finishers in 1:14:50 for a 3:33 pace per kilometre. Patti was the top female Harrier finishing bang on her estimated time of 1:50 which was a personal best by 8 minutes. |
