PIH hosts 8 races in the Victoria area each year. There are races for all running syles including road, trail, hill, and just plain fun. The Thetis Lake Fall series includes the PIH Bob Reid Magical Mile, PIH Thetis Lake Relay, PIH Gunner Shaw Memorial 10K Cross Country Classic, and PIH Stewart Mountain 10 Mile / 5 Mile Cross Country Challenge.
PIH races are run by volunteers and supported by generous sponsors. New volunteers and sponsorship inquires are always welcome.
PIH also helps promote runs hosted by other organizations and is a major supporter of the Frontrunners Island Race Series. Other useful Vancouver Island Racing Links (Non-PIH):

In honour of Harriers who left us too soon. Leave your watch at home and predict your 10K time. A prize is given to the runner that finishes closest to 0 on the clock.
First runners start at 10:00 am from the Harriers Memorial Bench (0 Kilometre Marker) at Beaver Lake Park.
PIH is proud to present the 40th Annual Harriers Pioneer 8K Road Race, part of the Vancouver Island Race Series and the BC Super Series. The Harriers Pioneer 8K has a rich history of outstanding performances attracting many Olympians and world record age category athletes. Several Canadian Records have been set at the Pioneer event. Initiated in 1980 by the Prairie Inn Harriers, the certified 8 kilometre course, for the second year, features a new location in North Saanich after 38 years of being staged in Central Saanich. A satellite version of the new course is shown below featuring a route through rural farmlands just north of the Victoria International Airport. It is traffic-free and runner-friendly suited to fast racing times with a semi-flat, out-and-back race course.

The Prairie Inn Harriers Running Club is pleased to present the 31st Annual Harriers 2:18 Run Elk/Beaver Ultras. The fast and flat 10 kilometre trail circuit around Elk and Beaver Lakes is considered as one of the premiere races of its type in North America. Runners complete 10 laps for the 100K division, 8+ laps for 50 Miles and 5 laps for 50K while walkers complete 4 laps for 40K. The venue is all trails, very flat, has good footing, and is in excellent condition. It is definitely a runner-friendly, P.R. type of course!
The Victoria Goddess Run is a PIH-supported event under the leadership of Harriers Race Directors, Cathy Noel and Tami Tate. The seventh annual Victoria Goddess Run includes a 10K and a 5K Run/Walk which start and finish at a new venue, Belmont Secondary School on Glen Lake Road, and is supporting the BC Cancer Foundation. The lady's-focused event offers two brand new race courses this year and is a very popular summer gathering. The run creates an opportunity for women to come together in a non-competitive, friendly, social environment to celebrate the power that they can embrace when they work together to reach their goals.

The 2:18 Run Twilight Shuffle 5K is a PIH-supported event under the leadership of Race Director and long-time Harrier, Phil Nicholls. After 30 years of being hosted in Chemainus with a rich tradition of attracting high performance athletes and many top level age group participants, the Twilight Shuffle moved to Victoria in 2015 and is now held at Clover Point in Beacon Hill Park. This classic race is one of the only evening events on Vancouver Island.
All Harriers are encouraged to participate or volunteer at the Twilight Shuffle to support 2:18 Run Corporation for the tremendous sponsorship and garments that Phil provides for the Stewart Mountain Challenge, Thetis Lake Relay, Bob Reid Magical Mile and Gunner Shaw Classic races in November and for the Harriers Elk/Beaver Ultras in May. He will also be assisting with garments for the 40th Anniversary Celebration and Club Reunion/BBQ Family Party with eating, running, hiking, swimming, boating and paddle boarding on August 12 at McKenzie Lake this year.

Saturday, November 4, 2017 — The first race starts at 12:00 noon SHARP.
It is easier to complete the race with team mates but you can run it solo if you choose. Teams of 4 each participants run one ~5K lap of the main trails looping Thetis Lake. This popular relay, always held on Remembrance Day, is the second race in the Harriers Thetis Lake Cross Country Adventure Quad Series including the Bob Reid Magical Mile on November 4, Gunner Shaw 10K Classic on November 25 and the Stewart Mountain 10 Mile/5 Mile Challenge on December 9.
Remembrance Day — Saturday, November 11, 2017 — Race starts at 1:00 pm SHARP near the main beach.
Race on the secondary trails of Thetis Lake Park at the 33rd annual Gunner Shaw Cross Country Classic. Bring your trail shoes and expect lots of mud and lots of fun! This is the third race and is the oldest Harriers-hosted event of the Thetis Lake Cross Country Adventure Quad Series. It's a classic, must-do autumn trail experience. Just run it!

15th Annual Stewart Mountain 10 Mile and 5 Mile
New Date: Saturday November 3rd, 2018
The races begin at the main beach of Thetis Lake and quickly take you off into the character single-track sections of the park. The long course summits Stewart Mountain for some beautiful views; pause to enjoy! The short course follows similar trails out and then turns back toward the beach at the Aid Station.

Distance / Sanctioning
The classic long course is approximately 10 Miles (16 km) and the shorter course approximately 5.5 Mile (8.8 km). This cross country event is sanctioned by BC Athletics.
The main start for the long course is 11:30 a.m. An early start option of 11:00 a.m. is available for those expecting to take over 2.5 hours. If you are new to the race, we suggest using your road half marathon time as a guide.
The start for the short course is 12:00 noon. No early start.
Courses will be well-marked and marshaled but participants are responsible for watching for directional indicators at all times.
Please pre-register online or by mail with a paper entry form. Early bird rates until September 1st, 2018. Note: Online registration will close at 8pm Thursday, November 1st, 2018. In-person race day. Cash or cheque only. Limit of 600 entries.

Port-a-potties at the start/finish area (but no change rooms). Hot chocolate and coffee at the finish (save a disposable - bring your own cup or mug). Massage by Saanich Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic available at the beach for participants.
The Harriers Foundation has awarded many bursaries and scholarships since its inception: the Gunner Shaw Athletic Bursary, John Thipthorpe Computer Science Scholarship, Susan Reid Civil Engineering Bursary, Arthur Taylor Track and Field Award, Ken Smythe Cross Country Bursary, Rosamund Dashwood Fine Arts Scholarship and Sandy Auburn Environmental Studies Scholarship. Stewart Mountain is one of four running events that is designated to annually support Harriers Foundation initiatives including new scholarships, bursaries, medical research, athlete travel, our youth development program and many other charitable projects within the community.

This amazing, staggered start handicap race where anyone can win often attracts an international field competing for fame and fortune. Ok, it's just people here for the holidays and some locals competing for quirky prizes and socializing at the Prairie Inn after, but it's a club tradition centred at our founding and namesake venue. Oh, and it's free and almost everyone gets a prize! This is your chance to beat the fastees!
Always on December 26th, Boxing Day which in 2017 is a Tuesday. In 2018 it will be Wednesday.
First runners start around 10:00 a.m. from the Prairie Inn Neighbourhood Pub.
